Cameron & Dave – Lake Tahoe Destination Wedding

While flipping through my portfolio I came upon Cameron and Dave’s lakefront wedding from last summer and it always makes me smile.  From the adorable ring bearer in his bow tie to the jammin’ music by Bobby Yang and Tainted Love to the oh-so-popular pine cone accents, this wedding was full of little and big surprises.  One of my favorites has to be when Cameron changed into a little black dress during T.L.’s break so she could really start dancing during the second set!

Jay Reilly skillfully photographed these moments and the details of this wedding speak for themselves.  If you can’t get enough of this one, Destination I Do Magazine also took an indepth look into the makings of this destination wedding in their blog last December.  From the lawns of this spacious lakefront to the endless pier, the guests were treated to a lakefront setting none of them have seen quite before but won’t soon forget.

With a subtle nautical theme woven throughout the rehearsal dinner and wedding (did you see the groomsmen ties?? little boats repeated through out!), how else could the couple depart their reception?  Only in a woodie boat made for two, plus the driver of course!  The last sight and sound of the newlyweds as they departed on this summer night was to the honking of the ‘ole woodie boat’s horn.

Wedding Dresses – Classic to Imaginative | Lake Tahoe Weddings

All the hype this week about Chelsea Clinton’s wedding last weekend and her simply sophisticated and elegant wedding dress had us thinking about all the other types of dresses there are.  We found some very imaginative ones!

Chelsea’s dress was a quintessential strapless Vera Wang dress.  The raw-edged laser cut silk organza skirt and train was breathtakingly beautiful as she walked down the aisle hand-in-hand with her father, former President Bill Clinton.  The bodice, diagonally draped silk tulle, was finished perfectly by showcasing Chelsea’s waist with a silver jeweled embroidery.  Her bouquet was monochramatic ivory – a very hot Fall trend we will be discussing soon.

The next few wedding dresses will appeal to the inner princess in some of us and are absolutely gorgeous.  The Disney Fairytale Wedding line is designed by Kirstie Kelly and influenced by the Disney Princesses.  Each dress embodies the Disney character’s personality, but still withholds the couture design of Kirstie Kelly. Whether you want to look like Cinderella or Princess Jasmine, they have a dress for you. These dresses truly are for a bride looking for a modern day fairytale.

The next dress is made with 2,009 peacock feathers (seriously wouldn’t want a recount here!) and took eight craftsmen two months to complete.  The floral bodice of this dress compliments the similarly hued peacock feathers comprising the train of the dress. This 1.5 million hand sewn dress is sure to make a bold statement, and will definitely have guests talking long after your special day.

This monarch butterfly dress is a colorful design by Seattle designer, Luly Yang.  The non-traditional wedding dress includes vibrant oranges and reds with gorgeous beading topped off with delicate black feathers.  (Black feathers is another style watch trend we will cover soon!)  Whether you love butterflies or just love this dress, you are sure to have a very special day ‘in the clouds’ wearing this uniquely stunning gown.

Whether your style is a classic white gown or a princess style dress or a dress with lots of color, all of these wedding gowns are original, fascinating and memorable in their own way just like the gals who will wear them!

Sarah & Ryan – Delightful Dinner Party with a View | Lake Tahoe Weddings

Sarah and Ryan always envisioned their ceremony in a church but the question remained – where to have the rest??  This is where we stepped in and found the reception location they couldn’t even dream about.  Their quintessential wedding site was nestled on a lawn perched above the jewel blue waters of Lake Tahoe outlined by the snowcapped Sierras.  Jaws dropped when the setting was unveiled to their guests on their June 2010 wedding day!

The color palette of white, pewter silver and spring green was modernized with splashes of magenta and the outcome was breathtakingly sophisticated and tailored.  Personalized touches of Sarah and Ryan were woven through out the celebration from the stick rock candy at the coffee bar to the individualized hand tied flip-flops and color coordinated pashminas for the guests to the wildly popular and colossal photo board of the couple through the years.

The love between this couple was felt by all lucky enough to attend…  Ceremonial Cinema gives us a moving glimpse into this chic and tailor-made wedding.
