A few months ago World Wide Learn, a vast online resource for education and online programs, contacted me about doing an interview regarding how I had achieved my current success with wedding design and planning. I was thrilled to chat with them about my education, my industry experience and my overall love for my job. While flipping through my portfolio I came upon Cameron and Dave’s lakefront wedding from last summer and it always makes me smile. From the adorable ring bearer in his bow tie to the jammin’ music by Bobby Yang and Tainted Love to the oh-so-popular pine cone accents, this wedding was full of little and big surprises. One of my favorites has to be when Cameron changed into a little black dress during T.L.’s break so she could really start dancing during the second set!

Jay Reilly skillfully photographed these moments and the details of this wedding speak for themselves. If you can’t get enough of this one, Destination I Do Magazine also took an indepth look into the makings of this destination wedding in their blog last December. From the lawns of this spacious lakefront to the endless pier, the guests were treated to a lakefront setting none of them have seen quite before but won’t soon forget.

With a subtle nautical theme woven throughout the rehearsal dinner and wedding (did you see the groomsmen ties?? little boats repeated through out!), how else could the couple depart their reception? Only in a woodie boat made for two, plus the driver of course! The last sight and sound of the newlyweds as they departed on this summer night was to the honking of the ‘ole woodie boat’s horn.
